Welcome to the Dobbs Ferry School District Athletic Department
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA ) establishes the rules, dates, and where applicable, post-season event times and locations for each school sport at the modified, junior varsity, and varsity levels.
Winter 2025-26 Start Dates
Varsity & JV - November 17 (Mandatory)
Modified - December 1
Spring 2026 Start Dates
Varsity & JV -- March 9 (Mandatory)
Modified -- March 23
Fall 2026 Start Dates
Varsity Football -- August 17 (Mandatory)
Varsity & JV -- August 24
Modified -- TBD
To assist in planning for your winter, spring and summer vacations, the above dates are the Athletic Season Start Dates for 2025 - 2026.
In order for coaches and players to properly prepare for the start of their respective seasons, it is imperative that all prospective student-athletes are in attendance for all tryouts and practices. Those athletes who miss the tryout/practice periods, may not be selected to their team of choice and it will have an impact on their eligibility to compete once games commence.
