The Social Studies Department at Dobbs Ferry High School is staffed by a dedicated group of teachers who work in collaboration and provide our students with the knowledge base and skill set needed to excel in the social sciences. The department understands that all students can benefit from the core beliefs of the IB Learner Profile and works to incorporate these ideas into their daily lessons. All students are taught to think critically and formulate ideas and opinions backed with information and facts. Currently the department offers classes in World History, US History, Government and Economics, Theory of Knowledge, Sports Management, and Journalism. These classes are taught by Leslie Stein, Richard Hoffman, Scott Patrillo, Michael Meagh, Sarah Stern, and Connor Cohn.
