• NEW INFORMATION ON FOOD SERVICES AND FREE & REDUCED-PRICE MEALS

Please note that there has been an important change regarding the availability of “free school meals” in the Dobbs Ferry School District. We are resuming our regular food service operation that was in effect prior to March 2020 and the onset of the pandemic. While breakfast and lunch is available to all students, cafeteria meals will not be free for everyone in the 2023-2024 school year.

This decision was made at the national level. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and New York State have chosen not to extend the free meal plan for all students into the 2023-2024 school year through the federally assisted meal program, National School Lunch Program (NSLP).

    Meal prices for 2023-2024:

    • Springhurst Breakfast $1.25

    • Springhurst Lunch $2.75

    • Middle School/High School Breakfast $1.25

    • Middle School/High School Lunch $2.75

Important Free and Reduced-Price Meals Information:

Your family may qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on family size and income. All information is kept strictly confidential.

If your family meets the income guidelines to be approved for free and reduced-price meals at school, you will need to complete the Application for Free/Reduced Price Meals which can be found at the link below. If you receive a letter from the school stating your child has been approved through direct certification, this means your child will receive free meals, and that you will NOT need to complete this application. If you think you should have received one, but haven’t, please reach out to our Food Services Director Denise Delpesh, at delpeshd@dfsd.org or call Mia Alfano (914) 693-1500, ext. 3045.

Families who may be eligible for free or reduced-price meals must fill out the free and reduced price meals application for the 2022-2023 school year. Filling out this form will also allow families to access a number of additional services and support networks.

Download the Free and Reduced Price Meals application by clicking on the link below, pick up an application at your child’s school or contact Mia Alfano at (914) 693-1500, ext. 3045. Only one application needs to be submitted per household. You will be notified within 4-5 business days if you qualify for the program.

Food Service Menus are available on the website at https://www.dfsd.org/ under the Parents tab on top. You can also access the Free and Reduced Meals Application on this link as well.
