My name is Ms. Bookin, which is quite fitting, because I love books!  Some of my favorites are Charlotte's Web, Stella by Starlight, and The Watsons go to Birmingham, 1963.  I grew up in Westchester, and then went to college at the University of Delaware.  When I graduated college, I moved to New York City and went to graduate school at Hunter College to earn a dual masters degree in general and special education.  After teaching in the city for over ten years, I decided to return to Westchester.  I couldn't be happier to have found a home at Springhurst! Though many things about me have changed, I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in fifth grade, largely in part to my fantastic elementary school teachers.  For proof, click on the link below.  You also might like to know that now I LOVE tofu!
